About Us

HUNTER RIVER DRAGONS CLUB HISTORY

Hunter River Dragons was established in 2011, and at the inaugural annual general meeting on September 15, 2012, our first board of directors was elected. 2012 was the Year of the Water Dragon in the Chinese zodiac, so we adopted the water dragon symbol which you will see proudly incorporated into the club shirts that we wear today.

Our mission is to be an all-inclusive community-based Dragon Boat club providing quality training and competition all year round in a friendly, safe, challenging and fun atmosphere. Our club is managed by dedicated volunteers, who share their skills, knowledge and experience in a range of structured development programs.

At Hunter River Dragons, we promote the tradition of Dragon Boat racing and offer sporting, social and community engagement opportunities to people from all backgrounds and abilities aged 10 years old and over. You’ll find us training at least 3 days per week from the public boat ramp at Queens Wharf Road, Morpeth.

Contact us for more information or to come and give it a go.
